Primary care nurse

If you require a same day appointment, you may be offered an appointment with the Primary Care Nurse (PCN). The PCN can deal with many common ailments including:

Asthma problems Sticky Eye Cuts & Burns
Cystitis Sinusitis Skin Problems
Earache Feeling Unwell Repeat Pills
Hay fever Joint Injuries/pain Sore Throats
Headache Diarrhoea and/or vomiting  

Where necessary, the PCN can also refer you on for a GP appointment.

Community (district) nurses

Our District Nursing team provide assessment of needs and appropriate skilled nursing care to the housebound. They are responsible for the promotion of health and rehabilitation of clients as well as curative and palliative care. Telephone: 01225 422911

Community midwives

The community midwives help in the running of our antenatal clinics and provide care during pregnancy, birth and after the delivery of your baby. Telephone: 01225 422911

Health visitors

Our health visitors are involved in promoting health within the community. They offer health and social advice, plus support to all age groups, and are based at St Martin’s Hospital.

The Health Visitors are available Monday to Friday on the telephone between 8.30am and 10am. There is also an answerphone facility, and the Health Visitors make every effort to respond to your call by the end of the day. Telephone: 01225 831520/831710.

Health Visitor Clinics/Groups: Drop in Child Health Clinic, Immunisation Clinic, Support to Stop Smoking Clinic, Post Natal Parent Groups & Parenting Groups.

Please ask at Reception, or your Health Visitor for more details.

Administrative and reception staff

Staff work behind the scenes and at the front desk to help in the efficient running of the practice.

If you have any outstanding queries over administration matters, such as hospital referrals queries, Reception can direct your call to your GP’s Secretary who may be able to help.
