Patients are encouraged to see their registered doctor so that continuity of care can be maintained. However, if patients prefer, they may see any doctor.

All consultations are by appointment only.

Routine Appointments are offered morning and afternoon Monday to Friday at 10 minute intervals.

Emergency appointments are available every weekday with either a GP or through our Primary Care Nurse (PCN) service.

Emergency appointments with a GP should be used for the specific illness for which you require a same day appointment. They are at 5 minute intervals and you are requested to consult only about the emergency problem. Should you need to discuss other matters with your GP, it is recommended that you make a routine appointment at another time.

Please also remember that due to the nature of emergency appointments, individual medical cases may necessitate longer appointments which may cause delays. Thank you for your understanding.

Missed appointments waste valuable clinical time. If you are not able to make your appointment, please do call us to let us know, as we may be able to offer your appointment to another patient, even up to the last minute, though we would prefer as much notice as possible.

Saturday morning appointments are pre-bookable and is not a walk-in service. Saturday mornings can be booked weeks in advance for patients less flexible in the working week.
The Online facility to book blood test appointments is only to be used if you have been advised by a doctor or nurse to have a blood test. If this is not the case, or you require an urgent blood test please call reception for advice.

We may not be able to carry out a blood test at the time of your appointment if it has not been requested by a clinician.

Telephone Consultations

We offer telephone consultations for patients who need some advice or too unwell to come into the surgery. Telephone consultations spaces are in the morning and afternoon, and the GP on call in these periods will phone the patient back.

You may have noticed our receptionists asking you if you would be able to ‘tell us what the problem is’….

Our doctors and nurses are going to be offering more consultations by telephone. In order to increase the availability of your own personal doctor, we will be doing fewer face to face consultations and more phone consultations .You will be asked by our receptionist if your problem can be handled by phone, and if you are happy to, provide a brief description of what your call relates to. The advantage to you is that you can wait in the comfort of your own home and avoid the inconvenience of a surgery visit, and with the doctor already having some idea of what your call is regarding, deal with your matter efficiently and effectively by looking at your notes prior to your phone call, specifically relating to your enquiry or problem.

If you would like a chaperone present at any time during a consultation when you are being examined please let your clinician know. We will be happy to organise for another experienced staff member to be present at that examination.
