Data protection and confidentiality

Everyone working within the NHS has a legal duty to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Generally your records will only be seen by Health Care Professionals involved in providing or administering your care.

As a Practice, we process information about you, in paper and computer records. We comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, by ensuring that your information is processed for the right reasons and that only those members of staff who have a genuine need for your information may do so.

Access to medical records

If you would like to see or have a copy of your records, please write to your GP. You may be charged an administration fee. Please be aware that in exceptional circumstances, some information may be withheld to protect you from undue harm or where a third party is involved.
